A few words (and pictures) on Camp O traditions

What a Thursday we are having at Camp Outer Limits!  This morning started off with the messiest Would you Rather Thursday in Camp O History (videos will be posted a little later).  However we wanted to let you know about some new and old traditions we have a Camp Outer Limits.  The first is ‘Spin the Wheel’.  At Camp O spinning the wheel is a big deal.  Only 1-2 campers each morning are picked to come up and spin the wheel.  This is how we decide which counselors are going to get messy or participate in the daily assembly challenge.  Here are a few pictures of the lucky campers who have spun the wheel this week so far at camp!

Another continuing tradition at Camp O is Tank Wars.  Tank wars have been a part the summer at Camp O for the over six summers!  Camp 2 (rising 3 through rising 5) and Camp 3 (middle school) campers are charged with building a ‘tank’ from cardboard boxes.  At the end of the week the tanks are taken out to the field and campers have a great time throwing water ballons at one another’s tanks.  Yesterday and today were construction days.  The games will begin tomorrow during Camp Time (pictures will be posted!  Check back in tomorrow.)

As for the new traditions that we are building at Camp O we have began the KP Award!  KP simply means ‘Kitchen Patrol’.  Each day every huddle has morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack.  When snack or lunch is over we play a song to signal all our campers to begin cleaning up their trash.  The huddle with the cleanest table and floor underneath the table earns points that are tracked on the KP award board.  The huddle at the end of the week with the most points earns a prize for all their hard work keeping their area neat and clean.  The KP award helps us teach our campers the importance of being responsible not only to themselves but to the other campers in their huddle.

Ask your camper how their huddle is doing with KP!
