Monday Morning Flag Pole and Assembly

We have a lot of photos to share with you today.  The first set of pictures are from Flag Pole and Morning Assembly.  We start every day with flag pole.  During this time our staff double check their roll sheets and we recite the pledge of allegiance.  After the pledge, our campers and staff sing the Star Spangled Banner.  Three campers are chosen each day to help the director:  one to hold the flag, another to start the pledge, and one to start the national anthem.  From flag pole our campers head into morning assembly where we dance, spin the wheel, and have silly/messy challenges.  Have a look at some of the photos from our first part of the day!

The 25th First Monday!

Camp Outer Limits and Sports Camp celebrated the first day of Homecoming Week with lots of respect, spirit, and enthusiasm for camp.  It was awesome to see the familiar faces and to meet the new faces that will be with us this summer.  Our Director, Jai, and Assistant Director, Austin Branch led a fantastic morning assembly.  Our campers learned the rules of camp, sang the Birdie Song, and did lots of dancing.  While the day started out cloudy, we found the sun just before the start of Ranks. Campers enjoyed playing giant jenga at the Front Porch, basketball and hockey at the Cage, and soccer on the lawn.  Overall, we could not have asked for a better first morning to start our 25th summer of serving the Cary community.  It’s been at year but we can say it now, “Welcome Home!”

Summer’s here to stay

We are having another wonderful Thursday at camp!  Campers are excited about Family Night tonight and we cannot wait to show off the films your campers have been in!  Be sure to be come out at 7:00 for Family Night!

Here are some pictures from all around camp this morning!  We hope to see you all tonight!  And if you’d like to have pictures of your camper sent to you via email send me an email me here.  It would be my pleasure to do that!

A morning to remember!

Good afternoon!  We had lots of excitement in assembly this morning that has definitely carried over to our Ranks and Skill Sessions!  However each day must start with Flag Pole.  A time we set aside each day to get campers ready for the day and do the Pledge and National Anthem.

From an awesome flag pole we move inside to Morning Assembly (videos are uploading right now – check the blog a little later today).  In an interesting twist our directors made a challenge with one another.  The director with the least amount of levels checked of in his rank book will have to get a haircut – in assembly on Friday! (When we say haircut what we really mean is buzz cut!)

Following assembly we checked in on Creative Arts Rank!

And once everyone was seated quietly they got to work!

Don’t forget to mark this Thursday, June 30th, 2011 at 7:00 in your calendars!  It’s our first Family night of the summer!
